BOW — Western tent caterpillars have infested the branches of deciduous trees in abundant numbers this year, bringing unsightly white webs and leaf-munching larvae to the attention of growers across Skagit County.
“They eat leaves, reduce yields in trees. It’s a concern for commercial growers as well as home gardeners,” said Don McMoran, director of the Washington State University Skagit County Extension.
