It is unfortunate to see that none of our local and statewide elected officials and hopefuls are being proactive enough to take a hard line against Referendum 74. We need to wake up and realize that our country was founded on the principle that marriage is between one man and one woman; it has been a pillar of American tradition since 1776.

I would like to hear at least just one GOP candidate in Washington talk about this issue without being passive and remorseful about it. It truly saddens me that everyone is putting the issue on the back burner. This is such a pivotal issue for the direction and future of our state upcoming on the ballot. We need to do the right thing for our future as our Founding Fathers intended and keep it as one man and one woman, a coveted traditional marriage!

If the referendum does get approved by voters this year, look for me to run again in the next series of statewide elections.
