G.K. Chesterton was a maverick Christian thinker and writer in the early 1900s. In his day it had become widely accepted not to discuss religion or politics. So, just to buck the system, for thirty years he wrote a column about religion and politics. His biographer, Dale Ahlquist, affirmed his decision. “If you think about it, every controversy, every argument, every discussion is really about religion or politics. Or both. Religion has to do with our relationship with God. Politics has to do with our relationship with our neighbor. These are controversial for the simple reason that all the problems in the world come from our failure to obey the two great commandments: to love God and to love our neighbor.”
Looking at the candidates for President through the lens of the great commandments, does God have a horse in this race?
