Last Saturday I enjoyed breakfast with Chapter 154 of the Star Touring and Riding Club. We met at Bob’s Burgers and Brew in Burlington for their monthly meeting and ride. With 27 people attending, the banquet room was near capacity. Chapter president John G. kept the meeting moving with discussions of upcoming events, ride safety and other news.
Following breakfast, Ride Captain Lenny led 12 bikes with 13 riders on a tour of Whidbey Island. Although the temperatures got a bit chilly, the rain held off and the ride was dry all the way. We stopped for lunch at Duffer’s Cove and from there everyone went their separate ways.
This Chapter is very active with monthly rides, BBQs and special events. All bikes are welcome and the emphasis is on friendship, fun and safety. (All riders participating in a group ride must show proof of motorcycle endorsement and sign a waiver.) The Chapter’s next event is a BBQ at Skagit Powersports starting at 9:30 am on April 26.
Maybe, just maybe, there will be tulips in the fields this Saturday. Just in time for the SCRC Chapter 368 ride to LaConner. I rode with these folks a few weeks ago and must say they are a great group. They are meeting at The Buzz Inn at Harvey Field (map) at 8:30. All riders are welcome.
