MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon police detectives will train on the third floor of Mount Vernon High School’s Old Main building Wednesday night.

The detectives are training to respond quickly to various scenarios, said Det. Sgt. Mark Shipman. The training is not specific to the high school, he said, but the building was available when the police department wanted to complete its training.
