I mean, really, how stupid of me to forget that it’s very common for Vietnamese (or for all I know - Pigmied Ukranian) men named Luis Alberto Ugalde to hide out in MEXICO...and the victim (God rest his soul), Walter Chacon-Villanueva, with his OBVIOUSLY polish name and the unfortunate luck of mistakenly walking into a Mexican bar instead of going to the temple.

I wasn’t trying to “straighten [you] out”, Manerva, I was trying to find out where your line of reasoning originates from.
So, if I read you correctly now, you’re saying that you *weren’t* making assumptions by stating that all of those involved in the drive-by shooting were directly from Mexico by calling them “Mexicans”?  Do you always refer to anyone with a latin surname “Mexican”?  How about Antonio Banderas?  Do you call him “Mexican” too (even though he’s from Spain)?

(and can you explain what “morally vain B.S.” means?)

I guess I should have been more specific.  “B.S.” I get.  “Morally vain”?  What is that supposed to mean?  Each term is pretty much mutually exclusive of the other…

I think the term is very good descriptor and they are NOT mutually exclusive.

I find posting on this site draining because of the contentious domination of the few.

So the guy in the backseat gets a very reduced charge.  How nice for him.  I hope he stays away from his friends who tend to carry and use guns on a “person” who just happens to drive by.  (ooops, did I say ‘drive by’)

It very obviously was not an accident. Logic would dictate that he knew his friend had a gun. Of my friends, I know who has/carries a weapon capable of killing a person in another car.

Did this kid in the back seat do anything to try and stop the gun from being fired?  Did he go to authorities after?  Was he asleep and has no knowledge of anything that transpired? He is lucky he is only getting 9 months.  Still plenty young enough when he gets out to hook up with his “family” and go prowl the streets again, looking for someone disrespecting them.

To up river: 
At some point you are “down river”.  Just for the record, I no longer try to be politically correct.  Look what that has got us.  If you bent over half as much for the VICTIM, who is now DEAD, the world might be a better place.  At least a few members of this Mexican GANG won’t be roaming the streets for awhile.  Well, except for the one still loose.  Hope he doesn’t have more gang-banger homies to drive around with looking for a person giving a “look”. I am not saying at all what happened was in the right and my thoughts do go out to the villanueva family. what the paper doesnt write is walter and his brother fransico were well known gang members they are part of ms13 with is a well known elsalvador gang and they fallowed the defendent all the way to burlington were they ended up on alder st does anyone bother to say that the defendent lived on burlington blvd. for anyone who dosnt know alder st is the one right behind burlington blvd. and the paper doesnt bother to mention that armando even took a lie detectior test and he passed with flying colors they dont tell everyone these things and just because you in the car with some one and yes they are your friend theirs still well how long have you known this friend and how well do you know them. you could have friends that youve know for two weeks and are you going to say you know how they wold react to a siuation no so this was a tragety that happened to everyone involved but before anyone trys to think they know find out all the facts please because not only is the villanueva family involved but the defents have familys too

LOOKATME....ok...the defendants have family too...that’s a given but this still was all a CHOICE from the shooting right on down to the CHOICE to join a gang, thereby CHOOSING to make themselves boils on the posterior of humanity.

Hey I have another story all of you can comment on....you can say what you want but you know that you are using prejudice and racism when discussing the nationality of these individuals...I don’t think any of them are really MEXICANS since none have holds to be deported after prosecution....and when speaking about nationalities in order to generalize crimes...well then tell me what nationality is this Border Patrol officer so I can start discriminating against all law enforcement officers of such origins....well might as well fear all law enforcement since they cannot hold themselves accountable to the law they swear to serve and protect.....
