MOUNT VERNON — Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney stumped in Skagit County on Sunday, seeking votes on behalf of herself and for the party — and hoping left-leaning voters would make a greater showing in 2008 than in previous presidential elections.

McKinney said a Green vote counts, not just for each party candidate, but for the party as a whole. If the Greens receive 5 percent of the vote in November, the party will be qualified to receive federal election funds, and in many states, have a place on the ballot at the next statewide or national election.

No chance it will actually happen, but it would have been nice to see McKinney in a debate with the other candidates prior to the election. I’d pay to see her and McCain fire up a furious cursing/shoving match. The two should be about evenly matched.

Maybe McCain can demonstrate his waterboard technique on her.

William Jefferson hiding the $100K FBI money in his freezer and then claiming he didn’t know anything about it.  But of course, since the good Congressman is a black liberal Democrat, and since the “mainstream” news media is run by liberal Democrats, there hasn’t been much reported about this incident.

High-profiled Congressmen or women have to be ignorant to be corrupt while the ease of their exposure is just a click away.  As for Rep. Jefferson, his corruption was well covered in the press, more so that Tom Delay was when his corruption first surfaced.  The Hammer got away with living high on corruption for years before he was asked to resign (yet still not brought to justice).

Once again though, you bring in race....’ebonics’....instead of a worthy debate.
