This story was profiled on King 5 last night. You can watch at:

It is pretty unfortunate that a bunch of so-called Christians
are turning their backs on these boys. Kind of makes you wonder,
What Would Jesus Do???

Lord help us when the day arrives where we all must apply to city government to get “approval” to move into a new home. Sedro-Woolley and the powers that be need to know that the old NIMBY arguement isn’t appropriate here. These are our children. Where better for them to be transitioned to productive young adults than in a neighborhood setting? I am betting that there are domestic violence offenders and drug abusers in Sedro-Woolley, people with much more serious issues than boys from troubled homes or dysfunctional families. These are not sexual predators, they are kids who deserve better than what life has offered them before Secret Harbor!
And what about conflict of interest issues here? The Hearing Examiner for Sedro-Woolley is also representing a client (Annie Janicki) who is suing the city over land use issues regarding a waste disposal company.Only in Skagit County.

I am hoping that someone representing rights of the disabled steps in to educate the Hearing Examiner, a good Christian man I hear, re: the Americans With Disabilities Act

The Herald story seemed more middle of the road. But the King 5 story was obviously spun to make this situation look a lot worse than it really is so as to garner support for the Secret Harbor organization. It’s too bad no one has presented the entire story or at the very least the other side of it.

I know Tom Moser, I’ve worked with the Skagit Valley College trustee on SVC issues for five years now => he’s honest and straightforward.  Even though I’m nondemonianatial (sp?) I really despise you people putting his faith into this without him bringing it up.

This is not about faith or prejudice, it is about the principle of public input.  Same one as to the Deluxe Dump applies to Secret Harbor, V 2.0.  Sorry but no dice.

My reference to wondering “What Would Jesus Do” pertains to the community feedback provided during the permit process by the members and leaders of the adjacent chuch. It has nothing to do with Tom Moser.

Instead of welcoming these children to their community, they acted as though the boys would be some sort of blight on their neighborhood. I don’t think that is very Christ-like. In fact, it is rather prejudiced.

In that case, I apologize.  I’m not a Christian so I’ll stop there.
