Visitors will have the chance to see a wide range of outstanding work at NuArt ‘08, Art at the Port’s juried open exhibition, which features 103 pieces by 29 selected artists.
Juror of this prestigious biennial show is Phen Huang, director of Foster/White Galleries in Seattle.
Huang was president of the Seattle Art Dealers Association in 2006-07, and for the past five years has led Foster/White Galleries’ expansion of its locations in Pioneer Square and Rainier Square. She grew up in Vancouver and graduated from the University of British Columbia. Her interest in the arts began early at her family’s art business, Bau-Xi Galleries in Vancouver and Toronto.
An opening night celebration and presentation of the 2008 Anacortes Patron of the Arts award is 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25 at the Port of Anacortes Warehouse at First Street and Commercial Avenue. With wine, appetizers and hand-made chocolates, it is an evening of culture and class. Proceeds from the event support community arts.
