Former Concrete High School wrestling coach Mark Evan Brown is losing his job as principal of Highland Christian Schools in Arlington after being charged with the rape of a 14-year-old girl.

Brown was charged Thursday with third-degree rape and booked into Snohomish County Jail, accused of having sex with a student of the Arlington school. According to Snohomish County court documents, Brown and the 14-year-old exchanged hundreds of text messages and phone calls.

Something very strange is going on at Highland Christian School.  How is it that nobody was disturbed by what happened at Concrete? Or that he started dating his ex-wife when she was 14 and he was 26?  Not being aware of these things is just as disturbing/negligent as not caring about them.  I think a lawsuit is in order.

The investigation by the sheriff’s department determined the complaints were just email flirtations...+1 for Skagit County sheriff investigations. Mr. Brown’s position was not renewed because he only transported a student alone in his car. This according to a news media site. It is curious why Concrete School didn’t talk to Highland Christian school though...or maybe they did?

It isn’t Concrete’s or a previous employers job to follow employees.

It is amazing that Highland Christian did not contact Concrete or any previous employers such as Darrington about this issue especially when hiring a Principal that is not Certified to teach or be an Administrator in the State of Washington.

Here is another interesting article that was done sometime ago by the Seattle Times about this type of issue throughout the State of Washington:  http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/news/local/coaches/

Since lawyers now run the world former employers are hesitant to tell prospective employers the truth about former employees for fear of being sued.  But when they keep quiet and the former employee does something like this then they get sued for THAT.

School districts HAVE to inform other districts of any misconduct....it’s the LAW.  The loophole here is that he was never charged with the first crime so there’s no PROOF and he can be hired.  What probably happened was he knew somebody at the the christian school and got the job.  NOBODY gets a teaching job here without knowing somebody in the district...and Christian/private schools are even WORSE that way.
