Editorial: There are people in Anacortes who would stop future assessments against real property in Anacortes. This could mean the slowdown or stop of much progress, perhaps it already has. The privilege of owning real estate carries with it the responsibility of paying a fair share as determined by the amount and location of the property. If you can’t afford all your holdings — better try to sell some because Anacortes is going to move ahead with or without you. There is no reason to cause one generation of failure to become another one
