Harold,
We are also tired of this kind of misinformation being repeatedly quoted.

Fluoridation is safe and effective, and has been proved to reduce dental decay by up to 40 percent

First of all, can you show me a per-reviewed human study stating that adding HydroFluosilic acid “fluoride” to drinking water isn’t a health risk and also 40% reduction, how make caries (surfaces) does that equate to?

Further example is the proposed location of the waste station in Sedro-Woolley, across from the school in a neighborhood whose majority opposes it —not to mention most of the rest of the city residents.

Whose brainchild was that? Evidently, it was someone’s who has more money than common sense and is intent on proving it.

Well written.

The problem is that local gov’t in Skagit County is varying degrees of broken.

Very true! In my opinion, decisions are often made in the background by the highest bidder(s). As one such player called it: “Adventures in Public Policy Making.”

Let’s say for the sake of argument that the Deluxe plant near the High School would be a good idea and embraced by the majority (it isn’t and it isn’t), the one thing that I will never understand is how the S-W City Council can claim that it was an open process beginning in the Spring of 2007. If it were an open process, Superintendent Mark Venn and the S-W School Board would have been approached by the City Council well ahead of the Monday meeting in which the decision was made by the Council to give the decision to the County. You don’t alienate a community partner in charge of the health and well-being of that community’s children.

Well-said.  Thank you for chiming in here.  Hope you stay involved.  It’s kind of lonely defending democracy with some of the clowns like dan litton and timewarp defending Deluxe.

BUT perhaps I should change my avatar from a F-14 Tomcat to a F-22 Raptor as I seem to have the better of them!

I’ve always been afraid of clowns. You are fighting the good battle and ultimately Deluxe will go elsewhere because of people like you and the rest of the majority.
