ANACORTES—Two state agencies are asking the state Supreme Court to reconsider a recent decision that upheld Anacortes’ shoreline planning process.

The Community, Trade and Economic Development agency and the Ecology Department, who joined appellants Futurewise, Evergreen Islands and Skagit Valley Audubon Society in the case, made the announcement today.

Ecology officials say that the split decision in the Futurewise v. Anacortes case places the state agency in a role that lawmakers didn’t envision.
