MOUNT VERNON — Amanda Oliver scored two goals — one that tied the game, one that ended up winning it — to help power the Mount Vernon Christian girls’ soccer team to a 3-2 Northwest 2B/1A victory Tuesday over La Conner.

Oliver scored scored her first goal to tie the game at two goals apiece, then knocked one into goal in the 76th minute off a Jolene Houtsma assist to give them the victory.

Rachel Freeman scored the Hurricanes’ first goal from a Kendra McConnell assist.
