State officials are asking the public’s help to locate the sources of two oily sheens in the waters of Skagit and Whatcom counties.
The spills were reported Saturday and Monday, according to the state Department of Ecology. The first spill was reported Sunday morning in Hale Passage, near Lummi Island. The second spill extended from Eliza Island, southeast of Lummi, into Samish Bay, and was reported Monday afternoon.
