MOUNT VERNON — For the second time this year, Mount Vernon police are warning local business owners to be on the lookout for a fraudulent solicitation for funds.

The fraud attempt involves a person who contacts local business owners regarding an opportunity to secure sponsorship or advertising in souvenir programs. The person uses names and affiliations associated with local sports programs and tournaments.
