Mr. Bates says he knows where McCain stands.  Then maybe he can fill us in - where does McCain stand on these issues today (as opposed to yesterday or last year):

Earlier this year: “I’m not for, quote, privatizing Social Security. I never have been. I never will be.”

But in March 2003, McCain said “As part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it - along the lines that President Bush proposed.”

So, privatize, or not privatize Social Security?  Where does McCain stand today, Mr. Bates?

On Defense spending in Nov. 2007: “We can also afford to spend more on national defense, which currently consumes less than four cents of every dollar that our economy generates - far less than what we spent during the Cold War.”

But in June 2008, McCain’s top economic adviser says defense budget cuts is exactly what is needed to cut corporate taxes.

So where is McCain today, Mr. Bates, on defense spending?

Those two examples are just the tip of the iceberg.  Want more?

Please, Mr. Bates, if you know where McCain stands, please let him know...then maybe fill the rest of us in.

More and more citizens are writing letters supporting the vote on a Skagit electric PUD. Why is that? They realize that PSE has the highest rates in Washington state and that its sell-out to Macquarie, the Australian investment firm, will only make PSE rates climb higher.

The amount to debt PSE will owe to Macquarie ensures that rates will be increased annually for a long time. And, as PSE’s contracts to purchase lower cost hydro power expire, renewing them will subject PSE ratepayers to even more increases.

It only makes sense to vote yes on PUD Proposition # 1 to give our PUD the authority to fully study the feasibility of taking over PSE facilities in Skagit County and getting in line for BPA lowest-cost hydro power.

Using U-Tube as a news source is rather dumppy.JMO.
