Parking fills up early for this popular trailhead. There is some parking on the east side of the road, though the larger strip of parking is along the west side. Saint Edward State Park has a lot to offer. It’s historic, scenic, boasts a labyrinth-type trail system that’s easy to follow, and it has picnic areas… Keystone Spit, which is part of Fort Casey State Park, has an interesting history. The Upland Trail begins at the Breazeale-Padilla Bay Interpretive Center. Make sure to stop by the front desk to get interpretive and botanical guides. The center… If the thick, concrete walls of Fort Casey could talk, they would tell remarkable stories. The paved portion of the trail is only a few hundred yards long with a slight downhill grade. It begins at the interpretive center. Distance: 5.2 miles You will need a fishing or conservation placard to use the area. The placard must be displayed so it can be seen through the windshield of the vehicle. Parking at the trailhead is limited. If the lot is full, park in the gravel lot across from the Eaglemont clubhouse and walk to the trailhead. Many have sped past Wildwood Chapel on their way elsewhere, probably wondering exactly what that white blur was.
