OLYMPIA — State health officials say two more Washington residents probably had West Nile virus this year.
If the diagnosis is confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the total West Nile infection rate for the state would be three so far in 2008.
State officials believe a Yakima County woman in her 50s and a King County man in his 30s were probably infected in the state of Washington, both possibly in Yakima County.
A King County woman was the first likely West Nile case in Washington this year. Her infection was reported in August after it was discovered during a blood bank screening. She may have been infected in either Washington or Oregon.
