3 cities honored for healthy work forces

Two Skagit County cities and one Island County city have been named 2008 “WellCity Award” winners by the Association of Washington Cities, recognizing their efforts to promote a healthy municipal work force.

Anacortes was named a winner for the fifth consecutive year, Concrete won the award for the fourth straight year and Oak Harbor was named a winner for the third consecutive year. They were among 28 Washington cities that received the honor.

Cities must demonstrate a wide variety of programs and practices intended to create a standard of excellence in employee health.
