Sheryl Lawson said she has been frustrated by repeated efforts to acquire her property as the site for Hamilton’s relocation.

HAMILTON — The most recent effort to move the flood-prone town of Hamilton to higher ground is running out of money and time.

Not to mention that the Hamilton Public Development Authority is backed into a corner.

The agency created to purchase and guide development of a new Hamilton town site must secure the cooperation of a single property owner to make the relocation happen.

As of now, Richard and Sheryl Lawson say they won’t sell their 46 acres across Highway 20 from Hamilton, bordered on the west by Hamilton Cemetery Road.
