Whitney Schultz moved to neurological clinic
Whitney Schultz continues to improve after being injured in a car accident earlier this month. Last week she was able to go outside and her family is looking for a local facility where she can continue her recovery.
The 20-year-old Anacortes resident was moved to the Neurosurgery Clinic at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle July 17. The clinic specializes in assessment and management of neurological conditions.
Schultz was badly injured in a car accident July 4 on Guemes Island. She sustained brain contusions and three head fractures in the crash.
Schultz’s family has set up a Web site so friends can track her progress, see photos and write notes. Visit http://www.caringbridge.org and type in “whitneyschultz.” More photos were added last week.
As of Monday, more than 140 messages were left for Schultz and her family.
A trust fund account has been set up for Schultz at Skagit State Bank.
A blood drive is planned in honor of Schultz noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 in the basement of City Hall. For information or to sign up, contact Dena Barcott at 293-3433 or .
