An 81-year-old Burlington man was taken to the Skagit Valley Hospital with injuries after pulling in front of a tanker truck driving eastbound on Highway 20, the State Patrol said.

Billie D. Johnson, 81, was turning onto the highway from Pulver Road west of Burlington around 11 a.m. when the truck ran into him, the State Patrol said. Johnson’s 2005 Honda Accord was totaled.

The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man from Abbottsford, B.C., was not injured.

The eastbound lane of Highway 20 at Pulver Road was closed from 10:59 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. today.

Johnson was cited for failure to yield, according to a State Patrol memo.
