On Saturday, 256 kids and their parents came to get free school supplies, clothing and haircuts to get ready for the new school year at the Anacortes-San Juan Islands Chapter of the American Red Cross Caring For Kids Ready to Learn Fair at Anacortes Middle School.

That’s almost double the number of students served last year. They wrote $3,520 in shoe vouchers, about $1,000 more than last year.
