The deadline for public comments on proposed changes to Skagit County’s development code has been extended to July 21.

The county planning department has proposed 119 changes, from simple corrections to a new section regulating urban growth.

The extension was granted after forestry and agricultural groups said they needed more time to study the changes.

Comments must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. July 21 to Planning and Development Services, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. Comments may also be hand-delivered to the department at 1700 E. College Way.
