Burlington resident Ed Walker is missing this painting he did for the Skagit County Fair.

Ed Walker is on the lookout for a missing cow drawing that may have been stolen from the Skagit County Fair.

The Burlington resident said on Aug. 11 his caretaker and he went to pick up the pastel chalk drawing, which had won a number of blue ribbons, but were unable to locate the piece with help from fair staff.

“It won a grand prize, and I feel cheated somebody took it,” he said.

Walker, who said he has had health problems recently, has found solace through drawing during hard times, and said he could have sold the 18- by 24-inch cow piece.

He said he has been entering drawings — mostly of animals — at the fair for a number of years.

“I don’t hold them responsible,” Walker said. “They’ve been very nice in helping me track it down.”

If anybody has seen the piece, which is on brown butcher paper, they are encouraged to call the fair office at 360-336-9453.
