MOUNT VERNON — The Skagit County prosecuting attorney’s announcement of his decision on whether or not to seek the death penalty in the case of multiple-murder defendant Isaac L. Zamora was postponed Monday.

The announcement was scheduled to be announced during a hearing in Skagit County Superior Court Monday morning. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The 29-year-old Zamora, who lived in Alger, is accused of killing six people and injuring four more on Sept. 2, 2008, in a spree that started in his Alger neighborhood, continued on Interstate 5 and ended at the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office in downtown Mount Vernon.

Prosecuting Attorney Rich Weyrich said the delay was caused because of scheduling conflicts and last minute details needed for the decision.
