A Fabulous Favorites Flavored with Frivolity concert, featuring local sopranos Lynne Rheinhardt of La Conner, Laurie Hinman of Stanwood and Katie Koziol of Anacortes, is 4 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church of Anacortes, 2201 H Ave.

“The concert will raise funds to restring the grand piano in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church, so the great instrument can continue to provide beautiful music for years to come,” said Barbara King, who will accompany the divas on piano.

The trio will perform wonderful soprano arias, duets and trios, and maybe even some diva duels. Music is by Mozart, Strauss, Offenbach, Rossini, Bernstein and others.

King said a concert last year raised money to do everything the piano needed, except the restringing.

“In a way pianos are like cars. You can just put gas in a car, but even a Mercedes won’t keep going without routine maintenance. A piano can be regularly tuned, but it is subject to wear and tear. A fine instrument such as the one at the UMCA, requires and deserves good maintenance,” she said.
