MOUNT VERNON — Three juveniles were injured during a shooting on the 200 block of Maple Lane early this morning, according to the Mount Vernon police.

The victims were in the home at about 1:30 a.m. when they were shot at.

A 16-year-old Mount Vernon teen has been booked into juvenile detention on investigation of harassment in connection to the shooting, police said.

A 13-year-old Mount Vernon boy is being treated at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for a head wound. A 14-year-old Mount Vernon boy was treated this morning for wounds to his head and released. The third boy, 16, of Burlington was treated and released for a leg wound, police said.

Police won’t say what kind of of firearm was used in the shootings.

Police say it appears the shooting was gang related.

Witnesses are being interviewed today.

Earlier Friday night at about 11:30 p.m. witnesses reported gunshots just north of Edgewater Park in West Mount Vernon. Several callers reported multiple gunshots.

Investigators confirmed the gunshots. No injuries or property damage was reported in that shooting, police said.

It is unknown if the two shootings are related.
