Fireworks face restrictions across county

Fireworks are restricted in some fashion in every community in Skagit County. Here are some of the restrictions:

Anacortes — All fireworks are banned.

Burlington — All fireworks are banned.

Concrete — All fireworks are banned.

La Conner — Nonaerial, or Class C, fireworks are allowed July 4.

Mount Vernon — Nonaerial, or Class C, fireworks are allowed from noon to midnight July 4. No fireworks within 300 feet of forest land or parks.

Sedro-Woolley — Nonaerial, or Class C, fireworks are allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 4.

Unincorporated Skagit County — Fireworks purchased from retail stands and stores may be used at the following times:
• Between noon and 11 p.m. June 28.
• Between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. June 29 to July 3.
• Between 9 a.m. and midnight July 4.
• Between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. July 5.

Swinomish Reservation — Fireworks are prohibited between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. except July 4.

Upper Skagit Reservation — Fireworks allowed through July 6 in designated areas.

Federal- and state-managed public land — All fireworks are banned.

mykodragon...if your read the FULL article, he was still in training and we are only human, mistakes can happen even when the professionals handle fireworks. …

REFINERY OPERATOR Tesoro is currently seeking to fill the position of Refinery Operator at its Anacortes facility. An Operator monitors and controls refinery process equipment while working a rotating 12-hour shift, often outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. This can be a physically/mentally challenging job requiring mechanical ability and a basic understanding of physical sciences and chemistry. In addition, candidates must possess a positive work ethic, good communications and teamworking skills and have the willingness to take personal responsibility for the safety of themselves and others.
