George Fox University
Brittany and Emily Harmon-Watilo, daughters of Eric and Carol Watilo of Mount Vernon, and Robert Baize, son of James and Janet Baize of Sedro-Woolley, have been named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at George Fox in Newberg, Ore., for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Gonzaga University
Freshman Jenna Lieske of Anacortes and juniors Jesse Frechette and Sean Watkinson, both of Mount Vernon, were named to the Spokane school’s spring semester 2008 president’s list for earning a GPA of 3.7 or higher.
Eric Fohn, a junior from Bow, and John Gross, a senior from Sedro-Woolley, were named to the University’s spring semester 2008 dean’s list for earning a 3.5 to 3.69 GPA.

Grove City College
Joel Adeline, son of Robert and Judy Adeline of Mount Vernon, has been named to the 2008 dean’s list at Grove City College in Grove City, Pa. Adeline, a 2005 graduate of Mount Vernon Christian School, is majoring in elementary education.

Montana State University
Andrew Baber of Mount Vernon has been named to the 2008 spring semester honor roll at Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., for earning a 3.5 or higher GPA as a full-time student.

Brianne Burnett and Kellen Hawley were named to the for Spring 2008 Dean’s List at PLU near Tacoma for earning a 3.5 GPA or higher for the term.
Burnett is the daughter of Jerome and Dena Burnett of Mount Vernon. The 2007 graduate of Mount Vernon High School is pursuing a degree in psychology with minors in Spanish and social work.
Hawley is the son of Kelly and Christy Hawley of Burlington. The 2007 graduate of Burlington-Edison High School is pursuing a degree in religion with a minor in Latin.

Savannah College
Wyatt Smith of Stanwood was named to the spring quarter 2008 dean’s list at the College of Art and Design in Savannah, Ga., for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Smith is an architecture major.

Stonehill College
Elizabeth Farrey of Stanwood was named to the spring semester 2008 dean’s list at Stonehill in Easton, Mass., for earning a 3.5 or higher GPA.

St. Olaf College
Kayla Benson was recognized during the Honors Day convocation at the Northfield, Minn., college for her cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher. Benson is a sophomore economics, mathematics and political science. She is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and the daughter of Lewis and Debra Benson of Mount Vernon.

Greg Morton of Mount Vernon was named to the Memphis, Tenn., school’s spring semester 2008 dean’s list for earning a semester GPA of 3.5 or above.

REFINERY OPERATOR Tesoro is currently seeking to fill the position of Refinery Operator at its Anacortes facility. An Operator monitors and controls refinery process equipment while working a rotating 12-hour shift, often outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. This can be a physically/mentally challenging job requiring mechanical ability and a basic understanding of physical sciences and chemistry. In addition, candidates must possess a positive work ethic, good communications and teamworking skills and have the willingness to take personal responsibility for the safety of themselves and others. Starting wage will be $21.38 per hour that will initially increase to $25.59 after successful completion of training.
