Island Hospital invites residents to the new 24th Street entrance for free and low-cost screenings July 9-11.
Free clinical breast exams to detect any small lumps that may need further diagnosis are from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 9. Bone density screenings for women will also be available for $5.
Free pulmonary function screenings to test lung ability to blow out air and screen for signs of lung disease are 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10. Free colon cancer screenings will also be available for those who attend. Kits will be sent to Anacortes Family Medicine for results.
Cholesterol and glucose screening for $10 is from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday. The screening includes a full lipid panel, including total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL and LDL. A 12-hour fast prior to the screening is required.
