The symphony also wishes to thank the many volunteers who helped at the gardens. In addition, the committee is grateful for the articles in the Skagit Valley Herald and Home Accent magazine.

Finally, the orchestra is indebted to the many enthusiastic attendees who braved the warm weather to enjoy the event and visit the gardens.

Thanks to barbecue supporters

On behalf of the Skagit County Community Action Agency, I would like to express heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our 29th Anniversary Parking Lot Bar-B-Que on Thursday, July 24. The event, which served nearly 600 of our clients, business and community partners, would not have been possible were it not for the generous support of members of our community.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the local businesses that graciously donated goods and services, including Burlington Fred Meyer, Frito Lay, Master Marine Services, The Children’s Museum of Skagit County, Wizards of Ooze, Sedro-Woolley Senior Center, Mount Vernon Senior Center, B & R Distributing, Country Farms, Grocery Outlet, Burlington Haggen, Lincoln Theater, Sedro-Woolley Skagit Farmer’s Supply, Mount Vernon Dairy Queen and Group Health Cooperative Northwest District.

Additionally, our audience was entertained by the talents of Sara Hernandez and KAPS Radio’s Mike in the Morning. Special thanks to Washington State University’s Germ City, and Group Health Cooperative’s Community Foundation Blood and Guts Mobile Display for coming out to promote positive community outreach at our event.

Community Action provides anti-poverty services that help over a fifth of our county residents get beyond emergencies and move toward lasting self-sufficiency. Our work in the community would not be possible without the continued generous support of our friends and neighbors.
