Undeserved humiliation

In reference to the trial of Mount Vernon massage therapist Ross Scott, I would like to bring to light that when this accusation was first brought about, his many clients were shocked and dismayed. Not because there was ever any doubt that Ross could ever have committed such an act, but that someone could bring about such ludicrous accusations and with no credible evidence to support it. And to further the injustice, his license was revoked, leaving clients without pain management and Ross and his family struggling to keep their home, feed their family and to then pay the accumulating legal bills to defend his innocence.

Forty-seven of his clients stepped forth to write letters of support to request that the Department of Health reinstate his license until such a time the accusations could be proven in a court of law. Between those 47, they rallied together and raised $4,000 to help Ross with the overwhelming legal costs. This speaks very loudly that many people trusted Ross completely.

The previous articles run have never said anything about the man behind this story. I think that the public has a right to know the entire story and Ross deserves the respect of these facts also being public. These facts were made available to your paper and were edited out. I am also disappointed in the slanted reporting done early in this case and the lack of follow-up to help repair a damaged reputation.

Ross Scott is a caring, well-respected individual and professional who did not deserve the public humiliation brought about by the news reports making his pain public.

I can feel for Mr. Ross.  I, too, know first hand the humiliation the paper can cause when it reports something with only parts of the facts. …
