Professional Photographers of Washington is accepting applications until March 28 for its 2009 Student Photographer of the Year Award. The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship grant. For information or an application, call Anita Weston at 425-776-4426 or visit http://www.ppw.org.

ANACORTES
The Anacortes Kiwanis Sunrisers is now accepting applications for scholarships. Applications are available in the Anacortes High School Career Center.

MOUNT VERNON
The Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon is accepting applications for six $1,500 scholarships until March 30. Applications are available at the Mount Vernon High School Counseling Office, or by calling Barb Lowery at 360-424-3319.

ANACORTES
Beta Sigma Phi groups in Anacortes are offering a $1,000 scholarship to a person seeking to continue their education. Applications are due April 15. Call Sandi Ross at 360-293-3010.

SEDRO-WOOLLEY
Scholarship applicants needed
The Sedro-Woolley Alumni Association is accepting applications for its scholarship program until April 15. The $1,500 vocational scholarships are open to all graduates of Sedro-Woolley High School and State Street High School regardless of the year of graduation. Applications are available from the schools’ counselors.

BURLINGTON
Chuckanut Valley Veterinary Clinic is accepting applications for a $500 scholarship for high school seniors who are interested in a career working with animals. Applications, due April 20, are available at 896 N. Burlington Blvd., Burlington. 360-757-3722.

MOUNT VERNON
Applications are being accepted for the Mount Vernon “Bulldog Classic” scholarships until April 27. The $2,000 scholarships are open to Mount Vernon High School students. Applications are available in the career center. 360-422-6901.

SKAGIT COUNTY
Eye care association offers $1,000 award
North Cascade Eye Associates is accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship through April 30. The scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior in North Cascade Eye Associates’ service area who desires to pursue an education in the medical field. Applications are available at local high schools and at North Cascade Eye Associates in Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley. 360-416-6735.

STANWOOD
AAUW offer scholarships
Two $2,500 scholarships are available to residents of Arlington, Stanwood or Camano Island, or past graduates of Stanwood, Lincoln Hill, Lakewood or Arlington high schools who will have completed two years of college by June, from the Stanwood-Camano Branch of American Association of University Women. Applications, due April 30, are available at the schools or online at http://www.scaauwscholarship.org.

BURLINGTON
Avenue Catering is offering one $500 and two $250 scholarships for students planning to attend a certified higher education culinary arts school in Washington State. Applications are available at local high schools and at Avenue Catering, 676 S. Spruce St. 360-755-5880.

REFINERY OPERATOR Tesoro is currently seeking to fill the position of Refinery Operator at its Anacortes facility. An Operator monitors and controls refinery process equipment while working a rotating 12-hour shift, often outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
