A Kirkland man was charged with assault Wednesday in the July 5 attack on his girlfriend at a bed and breakfast near La Conner.
The 35-year-old Kirkland woman was stabbed in the hand during the assault.
Jason Gill Wells, 34, faces charges of first- and second-degree assault and felony harassment. He remained in Skagit County Jail Thursday on a $75,000 bail.
Wells and his girlfriend were spending two nights at The Guesthouse at The Quarry on Dodge Valley Road.
The woman told sheriff’s deputies that when she wouldn’t give Wells some of her prescription sleeping medications, he stabbed himself and then attacked her, according to an affidavit.
At one point, Wells went outside the guesthouse, and the woman locked him out, but he broke in through a window and kicked and punched her, according to the affidavit. She got away and hid until she could crawl for help.
