MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon boys’ tennis team ran into a steamroller from Squalicum.
The Storm swept the Bulldogs 7-0 on Monday in Northwest Conference action, not even allowing Mount Vernon a set.
The closest the Bulldogs got were a pair of 6-1, 7-6 losses by Clint Meckstroth (No. 2 singles) and Cameron Addison (No. 4 singles). Both tiebreakers were decided 7-5.

ANACORTES — Corey Geffe finished off a three-set victory at No. 3 singles to give the Seahawks the Northwest Conference victory.
Mackenzie Larkin (No. 1 singles) and Zach Purcer (No. 2 singles) won in straight sets for the Seahawks (2-5). Anacortes also got the No. 3 doubles match behind Brandon Bessler and Chris Archer. They won 6-3, 6-4.
“It was a good match,” Anacortes coach Jeff Thomas said. “It was our best performance as a team, and hopefully a good confidence booster for us.”
Burlington-Edison’s Will Stewart kept Anacortes from a singles sweep.
The Tigers’ Carson Thompson and Etienne Luiten won a second-set tie-breaker 11-9 to win the No. 1 doubles match, and Craig Babington and Nick Zaccardi won comfortably at No. 2 doubles.
“We got a good effort from our one and two doubles teams,” Tigers coach Dave Moreland said. “Our No. 1 team struggled out there, but found a way to win.”

STANWOOD — Stanwood lost just one game in six sets of double, riding the sweep of the doubles to the Western Conference North Division victory. Nick Karstetter and Zach Meyer didn’t drop a game at No. 1 doubles to lead the sweep. Also winning convincingly were Trevor Teigen and Kyle Luck (No. 2 doubles) and Chris Gilmore and Jeff Epperson (No. 3).
Kyle Koetje (No. 1 singles) won 6-0, 6-2 and Nate Hovde (No. 4) won 6-1, 6-3.

SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The first-place Mariners won every set from the last-place Cubs in the Northwest Conference match, dropping Sedro-Woolley to 0-7.
“All in all, they’re winning more games per set,” Cubs coach Mike Ludwig said of his players. “There were some good things. We’re getting better. We’re not winning, but we’re getting better, and that’s what we’re looking for.”

LA CONNER — Megan Raymond scored or assisted on every La Conner goal as the Braves got into the win column in the non-league match. Raymond scored twice and assisted on goals by Nikki Finly and Lupita Partida in the second half. La Conner (1-5) trailed 2-1 at the half.
“We looked good,” Braves coach Amy Freeto said. “We’ve been playing better each game. Things are starting to fall into place. We really needed a win. Overall, it was a really good team effort.”
