Rainy and Washington passes on Highway 20 could see an accumulation of 3 feet of snow by Sunday.

State Department of Transportation crews plowed Friday, and compact snow and slush covered the roadway Friday afternoon. Plow crews will continue to work through the weekend, state officials said.

State crews reported about 5 inches of fresh snow on the passes with a total accumulation of roughly 13 inches Friday afternoon. Another 9 to 11 inches were expected to fall Friday night with an additional 5 to 9 inches today.

The pass could be closed if there is avalanche danger. State officials warn drivers to carry chains and be prepared for winter driving conditions.
