For the second year in a row, there were no fatal traffic collisions in Skagit County during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, the State Patrol reported.

Troopers arrested 19 DUI drivers, and made 268 traffic stops from July 3 to July 6, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Aircraft were instrumental for enforcement, said Trooper Keith Leary.

With 19 DUI drivers arrested, 19 or more lives were saved, Leary said.
