MOUNT VERNON — After graduation, Mount Vernon High School softball player Ally Kutz will trade her Bulldog green in for the orange and black of the Oregon State Beavers.

Kutz, a senior, has signed a national letter of intent to play for head coach Kirk Walker in Corvallis, Ore.

She said she looked at schools including the University of Washington and the University of Texas, but Oregon State seemed like the best choice for her.

“When I went down there to check it out, I met the girls, I met the coaches — it just felt right,” she said. “I felt welcome and I knew it was the place for me to go.”

Kutz hit .408 last season for the Bulldogs and was an All-State selection.
