A report of a rock slide on state Highway 530 between Rockport and Darrington turned out to be a false report, the state Department of Transportation said this afternoon.

An initial report indicated there was a slide at milepost 57 near Darrington blocking the eastbound lanes. The DOT reported about 20 minutes later that there was no slide.
