MOUNT VERNON — Construction of a roundabout at Best and McLean roads should be completed before the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is in full gear, Skagit County officials said.

A final application of asphalt was scheduled for Tuesday. Remaining work includes striping and installation of signs and lights.

The intersection is scheduled to reopen to traffic on March 25. Drivers may face delays after that date as the work is finished.

The Tulip Festival will begin April 1, with bloom dates depending on the weather.

What a waste of taxpayers money on this roundabout that is unsafe and un-functional. And whoever dreamed about it ought to be castrated!!!
