ALGER — Joey Saldana led the final nine laps Sunday to win the A main in a World of Outlaws sprint car event at Skagit Speedway.
Saldana, of Brownsburg, Ind., took home $25,000 for his win.
He started in the sixth position, but made his way through the lead pack of the 25-driver field to post his fourth win of the season.
He passed leader Jason Meyers, who started No. 1, on the 32nd lap of the 40-lap race. Meyers finished second.
Saldana, the World of Outlaws points runner-up in 2007, was sitting No. 4 going into Sunday’s racing.
Steve Kinser was third in the A main, while World of Outlaws points leader Donny Schatz finished fourth.
Mount Vernon’s Jason Solwold, who won Saturday’s A main, was sixth on Sunday.
Solwold was also a heat race winner as was Skagit Speedway regular Travis Rutz.
Rutz did not have a good A main, placing 24th.
Other main event winners were Kerry Madsen (B main) and Chad Kemenah (C main).
