Bush economic policy a failure

For the past eight years George Bush has given enormous tax cuts to wealthy individuals and rich corporations. He, and Republican legislators, assured us this would stimulate the economy and we would all benefit. Golly, I don’t think it’s working.

Does belief equate with evidence?

“Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed” proved to be an excellent movie. Ben Stein conducted patient and even-handed interviews with some of the leading “guns” of the anti-creation, antiintelligent design, and anti-God Evolutionists. Not even one of those “scientists” offered any scientific documentation for any evolution beyond variation within kind! It was blatantly obvious that they represented religious bigotry and zeal.

Dawkins especially revealed his religious zeal and was totally oblivious to the fact that “no one knows how it all started” also means that no one knows how it did not start!! He even admitted that Intelligent Design might have played a part somewhere else billions of years earlier in the origin of life, though his later article printed in the Skagit Valley Herald said that he was throwing creationists a “bone!” His religious prejudice was made very clear as was his eagerness to impose his religious views on everyone else through public education!

Such abuse of public education is clearly unconstitutional since its only purpose is indoctrination with the intent to win converts to those beliefs, and it is the most prominent, widespread, and deliberate violation of “church and state!”

They all considered the idea that “most” scientists believe in evolution to be evidence for evolution. Whether “most” scientists actually believe in evolution (if they do) or are simply indoctrinated through exclusive exposure to evolution throughout their years in public education and brow-beaten by professional persecution by evolutionist bigots and discriminatory denial of grants is a great question! Such persecution and discrimination was surely documented in “Expelled.”

Ben Stein’s research and other interviews also documented Darwin’s influence on Margaret Sanger, the original “Planned Parenthood,” and on Hitler’s efforts to engineer a superior “race.” The connection between Evolution and its influence cannot be denied!

Our enemies have no qualms

Few Americans favor any kind of serious torture, however, most of the enemies we’ve faced had little qualms as to what they did.

In World War I, there was the poison gas and in World War II, Germany did all sorts of horrid acts. Japan, ditto. We’ve seen the results and many thousands can attest to the facts. In Korea, more than 30,000 U.S. troops were killed and many maimed by battle and freezing weather.

Most of my 2nd Infantry Division went early and precious few returned alive. I had gone to the 82nd Airborne: there were only 500 volunteers and the rest were trained draftees and recruits because our military was so ill-prepared for any war.

In any war where Americans fight and die, I resent most of the things so many today have to say from the safety of thousands of miles away. Until they have the guts to walk in a soldier’s shoes, I can do without the marches, riots and slurs.

Johnson should know that his harping about Bush’s service is little different from any at least since Korea. John F. Kennedy had a stellar record, the only one to ever serve in his clan, I believe. Al Gore never saw a day of battle, his dad made sure he stayed out of harm’s way. Bill Clinton refused to serve, period. George W. Bush did what millions have done — he joined a reserve, learned to fly (not an easy task and it carries some risk). His unit was never called. John Kerry did the same, the swift boat crew had never been used but was called.

To save lives of our soldiers, I can stand minimal force, especially when the enemy tortures and then kills all and spares none. There is no quid-pro-quo with these zealots. I’m sick of all who whine about spying on Americans. If you’re not a spy or rotten sympathizer you have nothing to fear. If this was 1941, some in America would have been jailed or executed by Roosevelt and many would have been drafted. Then maybe you would sing a different tune.
