Skagit County Sheriff’s deputies check out a pair of culverts in Conway on the east side of Interstate 5, which they believe was the escape route used by a fleeing burglary suspect Wednesday afternoon. Deputies found footprints leading away from the culverts on the west side of the freeway.

A nearby resident called authorities after finding the white male suspect burglarizing a home. The Washington State Patrol helped contain the search area.
