Property owners must pay the second half of their property tax for 2008 by Oct. 31.
Payments postmarked after that date are subject to a 1 percent per month finance charge. An 8 percent penalty will be assessed if the payment is made after Nov. 30.
Remit payments by credit card at http://www.officialpayments.com or by calling 1-888-272-9829. Use jurisdiction code 5611. A fee accompanies this service. Payments also may be deposited at the drop box behind the courthouse.
Seniors and disabled individuals may qualify for a property tax exemption. Information on the exemption can be found on the state Department of Revenue Web site at http://dor.wa.gov/docs/pubs/prop_tax/seniorexempt.pdf.
