The Sedro-Woolley Rotary club recently named their Students of the Month for May.

Kenzie Rose is the daughter of Kevin and Heidi Rose of Sedro-Woolley.

At Sedro-Woolley High School, Kenzie maintains a 3.9 GPA and on top of the great grades, Kenzie does sports year round. Kenzie plays soccer, basketball and tennis. She is also involved in National Honor Society and Natural Helpers and has been a Freshman Mentor and a Camp Orkila counselor.

Outside of school, Kenzie has worked in various babysitting and housesitting jobs, worked as a janitor at Quality Physical Therapy and currently works at Hal’s Drive In. Kenzie is a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

After high school, Kenzie plans to attend Central Washington University in Ellensberg and pursue a degree in elementary education.



Klaye Kitchen is the son of Mark and Kim Kitchen of Lyman.

At Sedro-Woolley High School, Klaye maintains a 3.76 GPA. Klaye is the 2007-08 ASB Treasurer, is a member of National Honor Society, Natural Helpers and Teens Against Tobacco Use. He is a two-year varsity letterman in baseball, a Good Hammer Award winner and placed second in the People’s Choice Award at Woodfest in 2008.

Outside of school, Klaye enjoys hunting, fishing, woodworking, sports, camping and hanging out with his friends. Klaye currently works at Holiday Sports in Burlington. Klaye also loves his family. Family is the thing he cherishes most in life.

After high school, Klaye will be attending Eastern Washington University in Cheney. He is undecided on his major, but is looking forward to the experience of life in a new town and seeing what it is like to be away from his family.
