The Sedro-Woolley Police Department responded to 257 calls for service between June 20 and June 27. This is a sample of those calls.
June 20
8:20 p.m. Officers were on patrol and observed a subject who they knew had a no contact order at a residence in the 600 block of Township Street. The order prohibited him from being there. He was arrested and booked into Skagit County Jail for the violation.
9:38 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of N. Township Street to the report of several people fighting in a driveway. One of the men had three warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody. Officers called the jail and the jail would not accept him on the warrants. It was determined that this was just a verbal argument, no physical altercation, and the subject was released.
June 21
2:35 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of State Street for a person who wanted to report a theft. The subject reported to the officers that his skateboard had been stolen. He reported that two subjects came up to him, hit him, threw him to the ground and took his skateboard. The reporting party said all he wanted to do was just go home. He did not care about his skateboard and he was just going to write it off. The officer asked him if he wanted to pursue charges and he said he didn’t and just needed a ride home. The officer transported him to his residence, as he was quite intoxicated, and advised him to call if he wanted officers to follow up on the theft of his skateboard.
8:14 p.m. Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress in the 800 block of Bingham Place. They said there were two males fighting, one was bleeding from the face. They located the victim who denied being in a fight even with a black eye and injuries to his face. He told the officers that he had fallen down. The person who called in the fight, however, had a video of the fight. Officers viewed the video and put out an attempt to locate bulletin for a different male for fighting and disorderly conduct in the city. A 20-year-old Lyman resident will be referred to Sedro-Woolley Municipal Court for disorderly conduct.
June 22
4:52 p.m. An officer was in the 600 block of W. State Street running radar when a vehicle sped past him. He stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver who had two confirmed misdemeanor warrants out of Mount Vernon for his arrest. He was taken into custody. Officer found some black tar-like substance he recognized as being heroin, along with hypodermic needles. The subject was booked into Skagit County Jail on the warrants. The drugs will be submitted to the crime lab for analysis and a referral for Violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substance Act will be pending. The suspect is a 28-year-old Bellingham resident.
7:45 p.m. Officer dispatched to the 400 block of Fidalgo Street to the report of a burglary. The subject said they had been away from their house for a couple days and during that time someone broke into the residence. The only thing she found missing was some food. The homeowner gave the officer a possible suspect and the officer will follow up.
8:13 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Dunlop Street to the report of a burglary. Items stolen were carpentry tools with a total value of $400. No suspects at this time.
June 24
3:30 a.m. Officers were called to the 1000 block of Warner Street. Someone threw a rock through the complainant’s bedroom window while she was asleep inside. No suspects. Approximately $100 in damage.
7 p.m. Dispatched to a vehicle prowl in the 800 block of Nelson Street. The complainant said that all the wheels had been stolen off his vehicle, an Acura Integra. No suspects. Approximate value of the tires and wheels $640.
June 25
4:51 p.m. A man called officers and reported that he had observed his grandson driving a stolen vehicle on Ferry Street. Officer located the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle sped up for a short period of time and then suddenly stopped in the 600 block of Central Street. The subject was taken into custody and transported to the office where he was interviewed and then booked into Skagit County Jail for investigation of possession of stolen property, motor vehicle. The vehicle was returned undamaged.
