The Shell Puget Sound Refinery in Anacortes brought a small fire under control within 10 minutes Saturday morning, a refinery spokeswoman said. No one was injured.

Shell spokeswoman Jody Barnett said Shell employees discovered a pinhole-sized breach in a heater about 9:15 a.m. today. Hydrocarbons escaping the pinhole caught fire around 10:35 a.m., she said. Refinery crews fought the fire without assistance from outside agencies and put it out in 10 minutes, Barnett said.

Flames were visible from outside the refinery, and crews could be seen fighting a fire with hoses.
