Aug. 6



1:11 p.m. Skagit County Sheriff deputies received a report of three dogs chasing cattle in the 10900 block of Peacock Lane, Burlington. The dogs’ owner was contacted and advised of dangerous dog laws. They said they would keep the dogs chained.



Aug. 7



4:44 p.m. A caller in the 5200 block of Island View Way, Bow, reported being home alone when she heard a knock at the door. When she decided not to answer, the suspect walked around the house and came in the caller’s unlocked sliding door. When the suspect saw the caller, he fled out of the house. He is described as a white male with a long dark beard and curly dark hair wearing a Carhartt jacket or coveralls. He may have been associated with a blue pickup truck.



8:51 p.m. A window was broken out of and a purse and credit cards were stolen from a vehicle in the 13000 block of Bayview-Edison Road, Padilla Bay.



Aug. 8



3:50 a.m. The windows were broken out of two vehicles in the 1400 block of Lake Samish Road, Alger. The glove boxes were rummaged through but valuable tools were not taken and nothing else was missing.



10:20 a.m. A truck driver stopped for coffee in the 9500 block of Old Highway 99 N. Road, Burlington. When he came back to his truck, one of the side compartments had been opened and an engine diagnostic tool worth $9,500 was missing. Deputies are checking for possible video footage.



10:30 a.m. A caller reported that she was moving out of a residence in the 21300 block of Francis Road, Mount Vernon. She had left some items in the driveway with a free sign. She later discovered that someone had also entered her basement and taken a lawn mower and pressure washer valued at $500.



9:29 p.m. A window was broken out of a vehicle parked in the 13700 block of La Conner Whitney Road, Mount Vernon. A purse with credit cards were stolen.



Aug. 10



3:11 p.m. A 15-year-old male from Shoreline was involved in a boating accident in the 33000 block of Deer Park Lane, Lake Cavanaugh. He was riding a personal water craft when he attempted to turn in front of some companions who were on another PWC. He hit the side of the second craft. All of the involved parties went into the water. The 15-year-old broke his femur and was transported to the hospital. No one else was injured.



Aug. 11



3:33 a.m. A resident in the 10700 block of Peter Anderson Road, Burlington, was woken up at 2 a.m. with a flashlight being shined in her face. She screamed and the burglar ran out of the house. The woman’s friend chased down the burglar who said he was just really drunk and looking for a party. When a deputy arrived the burglar bolted and ran into a field. He could not be found again. The suspect, a white male about 6-foot 2-inches tall in dark clothes, stole a flashlight and a cell phone.
